On Bob Corbett's news and discussion list somebody asked for examples of groups in the U.S. that are working with networks of community organizers in Haiti. Here are just the first three that came to mind (visitors can suggest others by replying to this post):
- The Lambi Fund. The have a two-part video on their YouTube page.
- Beyond Borders. The famous Haitian writer Edwidge Danticat narrates a fascinating video that Beyond Borders produced on leadership training and education as empowerment. (Note: A couple groups use the name Beyond Borders, so make sure you get the one in Haiti)
- Grassroots International. Their site has links to brief discriptions of four networks in Haiti.
